EPIC Advisory Board Welcomes Meta Search Expert Dean Schmit
With over 20 years’ of hospitality experience, EPIC is thrilled to welcome Dean Schmit to the company's Advisory Board. Throughout his career Dean has worked in various facets of the industry, demonstrating success in strategic planning, marketing consultation, and customer service.
Working at companies such as Wyndam, DerbySoft and Pegasus, Dean brings with him a well rounded perspective from both the vendor as well as the supplier side. This great experience has allowed him to develop in-depth knowledge of electronic distribution, digital marketing, and revenue management.
Over the past few years, he has honed in on meta search marketing and has become an expert in the space. Dean was instrumental in growing the metasearch programs for Wyndham Hotel Group, and he was key in their 2019 launch of their property-level top off programs. Most recently, he founded Base Camp Meta, an educational resource for hoteliers as well as Meta Search Marketing, a consultation service to help hotels roll out meta initiatives.
Active in many industry organizations, including HEDNA and HSMA he is highly regarded among his peers. Dean has appeared in several speaking engagements and was the keynote speaker at the 2019 Direct Booking Summit in Miami.
